Apply for Rolling Grant
FUNDING FOR 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR HAS BEEN EXHAUSTED
Rolling grants are available in amounts of $500 or less. Applications are accepted year-round and approved until funding runs out for that school year.

Apply for an Annual Grant
The Annual Grant period opens January 13, and completed grants are due to your principal for approval by March 13. Grants are reviewed and awarded by May 27 for the following school year.

The summer grant period opens March 30 and grants must be submitted to your principal by April 24.  Grants are reviewed and awarded by May 27.


GRANT CATEGORIES

ANNUAL GRANTS

Mini Grants

  • Requests costing less than $750
  • Application cycle opens in January. Applications are due in March and approved in May. Grants are intended for the following school year.
  • Applications submitted by teachers and approved by principals
  • Projects and field trips  

Maxi Grants

  • Requests between $750 and $2,500
  • Application cycle opens in January. Applications are due in March and approved in May. Grants are intended for the following school year.
  • Applications submitted by teachers and approved by principals
  • Large projects and field trips

Arts Grants

  • No set dollar amount
  • Application cycle opens in January. Applications are due in March and approved in May. Grants are intended for the following school year.
  • Applications submitted by teachers and approved by principals
  • Supporting fine arts, visual arts, music, dance, theatre and poetry 

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Grants

  • No set dollar amount
  • Application cycle opens in January. Applications are due in March and approved in May. Grants are intended for the following school year.
  • Application submitted by teachers and approved by principals
  • Hardware/software and support must comply with the District plan and guidelines 

Swanson Library Grants

  • Given annually to each public-school library in the Fall
  • Used at Librarian discretion
  • Dollar amount is divided evenly between the four schools

Jonathan Rubin Special Education Grants

  • Requests up to $1,000
  • Application cycle opens in January. Applications are due in March and approved in May. Grants are intended for the following school year.
  • Applications submitted by Special Education teachers and approved by principals
  • Projects, programs and materials for Special Education classrooms 

Del Britton Memorial Grants

  • No set dollar amount
  • Application cycle opens in January. Applications are due in March and approved in May. Grants are intended for the following school year.
  • May be applied for by teachers or principals in conjunction with community members and/or other non-profit entities
  • Broader in scope than a single classroom or teacher, e.g., donating money to partially fund a new library at the primary school 

SUMMER GRANTS

Marjorie Mondavi Family Student Summer Arts Grants

  • No set dollar amount
  • Application cycle opens in March. Applications are due in April and Approved in May.
  • Applications submitted by students who are currently enrolled in the St. Helena Public Schools with a teacher/counselor/principal sponsor and parent signature
  • Grants are for student summer programs in all areas of art: visual art, fine art, music, theater, photography, etc.
  • Applicants are interviewed by committee members 

Joseph Phelps Foundation Summer Student Academic Grants

  • No set dollar amount
  • Application cycle opens in March. Applications are due in April and Approved in May.
  • Applications submitted by students who are currently enrolled in the St. Helena Public Schools with a teacher/counselor/principal sponsor and parent signature
  • Grants are for student academic summer programs or camps
  • Grants are need-based
  • Applicants are interviewed by committee members 

Summer Teacher Workshop Grants

  • No set dollar amount
  • Application cycle opens in March. Applications are due in April and Approved in May.
  • Applications may be made by teachers and/or principals
  • Does not cover transportation, lodging or meals
  • Enables teachers to attend summer workshops and institutes
  • Teachers may apply for grants to advance their learning in a certain area, but not for classes to earn credits for continuing education
  • Applicants are interviewed by committee members
