The St. Helena Public Schools Foundation, (SHPSF) was formed in 1983 by concerned parents and community members in response to the state budget cuts resulting from the 1978 passage of Proposition 13. The goal of the Foundation was, and still is, to ensure that St. Helena public schools continue to have the financial means to provide engaging, high quality educational experiences for all of our students.
The SHPSF is committed to educating St. Helena Public School students by providing grant funding that goes directly into the classroom to enhance the quality of the educational experience of all students in our public schools. We believe that preparing our young people for their futures with a quality education is an obligation we all share and benefits everyone by increasing the vitality of our businesses, fostering good citizenship, and strengthening the social fabric of our neighborhoods. The SHPSF has worked diligently for the past three decades to provide our children with the types of meaningful experiences that are crucial in a quality education, and to be a strong supporter of teachers’ innovative and inspired teaching ideas, and we hope to continue doing both for years to come.
Our Board of Directors is comprised of volunteer parents, educators, and community members. The common thread running through both our Board of Directors and the individuals serving on our subcommittees is a commitment to and a concern for high quality education in our public schools. The SHPSF seeks to augment existing programs and activities by providing grant funding for innovative and engaging learning projects and experiences that the district would otherwise not be able to provide.
